We had the pleasure of working on a project in Madison, NJ that involved some unique techniques and attention to detail – one of our many areas of expertise. For the wet bar area, we installed a countertop made from threshing flooring with matching shelves, using black pipe brackets to complete the cohesive industrial-style look, complementing the client’s wall sconces and sink faucet.
One of the most noteworthy aspects of the project was the special process we did on the vertical beam wraps. Hand-hewn beams are often rough and splintered, but we lightly sanded them while still allowing them to maintain their perfectly imperfect hewn texture and character while giving them a much more refined look and feel. We removed the original column structure, installed new ‘2-bys’ in their place, and wrapped the beams around them, resulting in a stunningly unique pop of flavor in this space.
We’ll be going back for more updates to this project, so stay tuned for what’s next.
