Back in 2012, the owners of this Maplewood, New Jersey, home asked us to build them an island top for their kitchen, which we crafted out of hemlock floor joists. Since then, they have come back to us for two additional projects: a hollow mantel, which we fabricated out of original barn siding, and a dining table, which we crafted out of white pine floor joists that we had previously sourced from Jersey City. if you look closely, you’ll see that the table also features a set of brass accents in the corners to give it an extra little touch.
