Rumson, NJ

Down in Rumson, New Jersey, we had the opportunity to provide the finishing touches on two unique spaces in our client’s home. We provided the materials for their octagonally-shaped sitting room (which has an incredible waterfront view!) and an adjacent home gym.

In the sitting room, we provided eight prefabricated, hollow, rough-sawn beam wraps for the ceiling. Each beam wrap was cut to size on-site and then installed in a pinwheel pattern with a unique center medallion. That center medallion was crafted out of several pieces of our Harvest mixed hardwood that was left over from other parts of the project. That little bit of resourcefulness helped to make sure that every bit of reclaimed material was put to use, and nothing was wasted.

That same Harvest mixed hardwood was also used for both the stairs that transition from the sitting room to the gym, as well as for the flooring in the gym. For the stairs, we provided five 12-inch by 3-inch rough sawn beech treads and matching risers. In the gym, the Harvest – in a mix of widths – was installed in a fairly traditional horizontal pattern and then beautifully finished.
